Ernies Kitchen

With its open-plan kitchen and simple decor, Ernies Kitchen has brought a bit of cosmopolitan dining to Coffs Harbour. The breakfast and lunch menus feature many classic dishes with Australian herbs, spices, fauna and flora added to create a unique twist. Heroeing native ingredients in this way was one of the main goals the owner, also named Ernie, had before opening his restaurant.

Breakfast is served from 8am to 11:30am and includes sweet and savoury offerings. Their specialty is Eggs Benedict which they serve in five different ways; Benny Australian, Benny Classic, Benny Ham, Double Pug Benny and Benny Roy-Al. 

Lunchtime is when you’ll really see the Australian ingredients shine. Native bush spices are used to season meat, while old man saltbush gives a salty, herbal flavour and lemon myrtle adds a sweet, citrus taste.
